Uninstalling

Updated on October 22, 2026

Deactivating Enhance for GP only switches its features off. Deleting the plugin from Plugins also removes its saved data.

What is removed

  • All Enhance for GP settings stored with your GeneratePress settings. GeneratePress’ own values are kept.
  • The Theme Design backup. Your settings are not restored first.
  • Your dismissal of the Theme Design admin notice.
  • Other internal Enhance for GP data.

What is kept

  • Icons you uploaded to the Media Library.
  • The child theme’s design file.
  • GeneratePress spacing settings.
  • Widgets from the After the Content and After the Comments areas. They move to Inactive Widgets, so you can reuse or delete them.

Before you delete the plugin

  1. If you want your own settings back, go to Appearance → Customize → Theme Design and use Restore my settings from the backup. See Theme design.
  2. Take note of settings you want to recreate, such as custom copyright text.
  3. Go to Plugins, deactivate Enhance for GP, then click Delete.
