Install a child theme

1. Install GeneratePress

  1. Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme.
  2. Search for GeneratePress and click Install. You do not need to activate it.

2. Upload the child theme

  1. Download the theme zip. See Downloads.
  2. Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme → Upload Theme.
  3. Choose the zip file and click Install Now.
  4. Click Activate.

3. Install Enhance for GP

Install and activate the Enhance for GP plugin zip from the same purchase. The steps are in Getting started.

4. Activate your licence

  • Your purchase comes with one bundle licence. Activating it once covers the child theme and Enhance for GP on that site.
  • Until the licence is active, Appearance → [theme name] shows the licence activation screen. Enter the key from your purchase email and click Agree & Activate License.
  • Updates for the theme and the plugin arrive through Dashboard → Updates once the licence is active.
  • To move the licence to another site, see Licences and activation.

5. Check the design

The theme design shows as soon as the theme is active. On a new site there is nothing else to do.

If the site already had GeneratePress settings saved, those settings win over the theme design. To switch to the theme design (with a backup of your settings), follow Theme design (settings import).
